ABOUT TFAP@CAA
In 2007, Anne Swartz, Professor of Art History, Savannah College of Art and Design, organized the first TFAP Day of Panels and performances for the CAA conference in NYC. Since then, the TFAP@CAA program has become a staple in the CAA conference itinerary. The Feminist Art Project would like to thank Anne Swartz for creating the annual TFAP@CAA Day of Panels and serving as Project Coordinator 2007-2011. Through Anne’s efforts, the art world, the CAA and WCA communities, and emerging professionals gained access to cutting edge work and ideas of artists, curators, performers and scholars, up close and through a feminist lens. Anne contributed many planning hours, acting as the liaison between TFAP and panel chairs and ensuring that the annual day of panels ran smoothly. Anne’s gift to all of us has been an ongoing forum for feminist issues and discussions of global art and art history. Brava Anne!
In honor of the 10th anniversary of The Feminist Art Project and the legacy of feminism in the arts, Claudia Sbrissa, visual artist, St. John’s University, and Kathleen Wentrack, art historian, Queensborough Community College, CUNY, collaborated on an interactive performance project entitled, Feminism: Remembrance & Legacy at the 104th College Art Association Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
